Sometimes, happiness is just having a high tea with girlfriends at New forest, with mandatory picture taking, and then promenading through the woods among the legendary New Forest ponies...
Summing up a little review of the cream-tea and the tea house itslef, the high-tea afternoon venue was at a classy little hotel and wedding venue called The Glasshouse restaurant at Forest Lodge Hotel at Lyndhurst. The hotel is an award winning hotel set on the outskirts of Lyndhurst, in the heart of the New Forest. The Glasshouse is set in the Georgian style dower house, with a very lovely contemporary feel to it. Apart from the delicious cream tea, the "A La Carte" menu offers fine dining with a selection of traditional and chef’s choice dishes, with locally sourced fresh ingredients.
The lovely ordeal was not only seriosuly indulging but also very pampering, with the high tea invloving a glass of champagne for everyone, assortement of really delicious veg and non-veg sandwiches, 2 rich sultana scones each with strawberry jam and clotted creams to share, selection of delicious desserts like cakes and chocolate tarts, and of course, the individual choices of tea with free refills.
A sunday afternoon could not have been spent in a better way but in the sunny New forest.
